Osnat Trabelsi is an Israeli film producer, a graduate of Film Studies at Tel Aviv University. In 1999 Osnat founded 'Trabelsi Productions' with the purpose of producing critical, creative, meaningful, and moving engaged documentaries. Since the company establishment, she has produced and co-produced numerous documentaries that won awards, nominations and were screened around the world.
Osnat is known for producing documentary films on political topics, especially those involving Palestine, the Mizrahi experience in Israel, women's issues, colonialism, racism, and more; and for melding her business with activism, promoting filmmaking in the geographical and social periphery of Israel, and creating access to Palestinian cinema.
Along with her filmmaking career, she is also engaged in activism at political-social issues: Between 2014-2019 she was the chairwomen of the Israeli Documentary Forum; she initiated and directed the first International Human Rights Film Festival in Israel/Palestine; co-founded with Avi Mograbi the Anti-Occupation Film Club at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque and co-founded "Films From the Dark Side," a forum that links Mizrahi and Palestinian concerns. In 2006 she initiated and directed a pitching forum for film students in Israel at South film festival in Israel; produced and was the co-artistic director of Joris Evans seminar.
In 2007 she was chosen by the economic news paper 'De Marker' in Israel to one of 40 women who make change in the society. In 2010 she joined as a shop steward at INPUT (The biggest international TV convention). She is teaching creative and political production in different frameworks and served as a tutor at DOC INCUBATOR 2014.- Soundtrack
